Job Summary

Reporting to the Title III Program Director the Title III Program Coordinator will assist with the implementation of the Work for All Students in Accelerated Programs (Work ASAP) initiative, which is focus of the college’s Title III grant received in October 2024. Work ASAP is a five-year project funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Strengthening Institutions Program, and this position is grant-funded.

The ideal candidate for the Program Coordinator will possess excellent customer service skills and be energetic, self-driven, highly organized, and capable of multitasking. While the Program Coordinator will assist the Program Director with all elements of the Work ASAP initiative to ensure the success of the initiative, the primary focus of this position will be assisting with the creation of a badging system for noncredit to credit pathways and working with industry partners to maximize prior learning assessment (PLA) opportunities for working students.

Essential Job Functions

Project Support and Collaboration (30%):

  • Support the project leadership for the initiative and work with college leadership across a variety of disciplines to accomplish the benchmarks established within Work ASAP.
  • Collaborate with Industry Partners, Academic Affairs, Workforce, and Student Affairs to establish noncredit to credit pathways and create Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) badging opportunities for students with industry certifications, trainings, and documented skills.

Badging and Prior Learning Assessment ship and Program Development: (25%):

  • Coordinate the implementation of a badging software to facilitate the creation of noncredit to credit pathways and create PLA opportunities for students.
  • Manage project records regarding noncredit to credit pathways and prior learning assessments, creating a badging system to maximize PLA opportunities for students.
  • Serve as the primary contact for working students and industry partners in Work ASAP regarding prior learning assessments and accelerated program options for working students.

Partnership Management and Program Development (20%):

  • Maintain and strengthen strategic partnerships across a variety of sectors, including industrial, nonprofit, secondary, and postsecondary organizations.
  • Assist program leadership with identifying and creating new accelerated and hybrid programs that will meet regional workforce needs and be attractive options for working students.
  • Support program leadership regarding the expansion of workforce trainings throughout the college's five-county service region: Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, and Polk counties.

Marketing and Recruiting (20%):

  • Assist program leadership with marketing and recruiting efforts related to Work ASAP; identify relevant strategies and collaborate on the creation of project materials.
  • Represent the college and program in a professional manner, being visible and available to internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Other duties as assigned by program leadership to support the Work ASAP initiative.

Non-Essential Functions (5%)

  • Serve on various college committees as appropriate.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality customer service to diverse groups, including students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to handle inquiries and issues professionally and empathetically.

EQUIPMENT

Work activities routinely involve the use of personal computers, printers, scanners, and presentation equipment.

Minimum Requirements / Qualificiations

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in leading initiatives in academics, workforce development, or related areas.
  • Project management skills, including budgeting, organization, record-keeping, benchmarking, assessment, and tracking of outcomes.
  • Knowledge of academic programs, workforce development trainings, accelerated and hybrid programs, competency-based education, and prior learning assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in managing strategic partnerships.
  • Ability to work with leadership across multiple divisions at the college.
  • Excellent communication skills: writing, reading, speaking, listening.
  • Adaptability in a high-pressure, deadline-sensitive environment.

JOB LOCATION

The main campus of Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee, is the primary workplace. Occasional travel to off-campus instructional sites within the college’s five-county service area may be required.
