Community Service Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Community Assistant to join our team. Clients served reside in a secured apartment facility that provides accessible and affordable housing for adults with physical disabilities. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enabling those who have experienced a traumatic brain injury to live independently as possible with assistance with certain daily activities. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about helping others.

Duties

• Provide assistance with daily activities such as grooming, dressing and meal preparation.
• Perform housekeeping duties and laundry services (laundry done on site)
• Accompany individuals to medical/health appointments.
• Maintain accurate records of resident interactions and event participation.
• Provide assistance with mobility, such as transferring to/from a wheelchair.
• Assisting with medication reminders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• 1 to 2 years of work experience is preferred.
• Must have a valid drivers license, dependable transportation and show proof of automobile insurance. *Travel is paid for job related mileage.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
• *Must be able to lift/pull up to 50 pounds.
• CPR and/or First Aid Training is a plus.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Must authorize the release of any investigative and criminal records obtained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Criminal background records cannot show a felony convictions.

Pay: Up to $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
