A small credit union located in Chattanooga, TN, in existence since 1959, is seeking candidates for the position of Manager. Chattanooga, the 4th largest city in the state, is located in Southeast Tennessee near the border of Georgia at the junction of four interstate highways. The city has received national recognition for its beautiful downtown renaissance, its riverfront redevelopment, its stunning outdoor assets, and its municipal broadband network (EPB) that offers the world’s fastest internet.
In this unique opportunity to lead the credit union, you will provide the strategic direction, vision, and leadership to ensure the credit union's financial stability and maintain a high level of member satisfaction. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all Credit Union activities and operations, policies, directives, and activities as established by the Board of Directors. Manages all functional areas of the credit union while balancing the needs of members, employees, and the credit union. The right candidate for this position will lead this credit union in growth.
The Manager is responsible for the following:
- Office Operations: Oversee and coordinate all daily office functions, including opening, closing, and ensuring a high level of service efficiency. As well as duties assigned by the board of directors.
- Member Services: Assist members with account inquiries, loan applications, and problem resolution, ensuring all interactions are conducted in a timely and professional manner.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain compliance with state and federal credit union regulations. Prepare and review financial reports, monitor internal controls, and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Member Engagement: Represent the credit union within the member community, strengthening existing relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
- Manage Security and Safety: For the credit union and analyze security policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Previous experience in a financial institution, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of credit union products and services, including savings and loan programs.
- Knowledge of relevant banking regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and standard financial software.
- Salary to be determined based on the applicant’s experience and qualifications.
