What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Analyst position at Tennessee Education Lottery?
Position Purpose:
The primary purpose for this position is to provide effective customer service to retailers. Duties include, but are not limited to: evaluating credit worthiness of retailers and research and analysis.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

- Analyzes the financial risk and credit worthiness of retailer applicants and existing retailers
- Operates computer terminals to obtain credit reports on retailer applicants and existing retailers
- Researches and corresponds with retailers regarding credit, application issues and other problems
- Maintains accuracy of assigned departmental reports
- Solicits, reviews and maintains various financial instruments used as security
- Performs data base maintenance in reference to retailer files and information
- Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports as requested
- Responds to questions, complaints, and requests for information by email, telephone, in person or by mail from retailers, insurance brokers, financial institutions, citizens, employees, etc.
- Prepares, maintains and updates files and logs following prescribed methods
- Generates and prints letters to non-compliant retailers regarding financial security deposits
- Communicates with financial institutions regarding issues related to retailers’ certificates of deposit and trust accounts
- Communicates with bond providers regarding issues related to retailers’ bond maintenance and renewal
- Oversees daily operation of retailer contract renewal process
- Maintains confidentiality of retailer information
- Ensures all required application processing checkpoints have been completed and recommends applications for review, approval or rejection
- Acts as point of contact regarding retailer account maintenance, including but not limited to, enabling and disabling terminals, application verification, and troubleshooting issues
- Notifies Sales Department of ticket ordering request
- Serves as back up to the Retailer Installation Coordinator
- Performs general administrative/office functions as needed, including but not limited to: answering the phone, taking and distributing messages, stamping, sorting, filing and distributing mail and making copies
Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s Degree is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two to five years of credit and / or banking experience and must be computer literate (Microsoft Office required, Access preferred); or equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the requisites, knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
Other Qualifications:
Must have good organizational and excellent communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality of personally identifiable information.
