Description:

The Continuing Education Coordinator is a part-time position (10-15 hours per week) and serves as a facilitator of educational services that ties closely to the mission of TPA and its Foundation to ensure pharmacy professionals are engaged and valued as essential members to the healthcare team. The Continuing Education Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer. This role lends educational expertise to continuing education and other educational programs and services within TPA and the Tennessee Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation (TPREF).

Duties:

Collaborate with TPA Education Committees and other volunteer leaders and the TPA staff to deliver ACPE-accredited live, in-person educational program offerings for TPA’s Winter Meeting, Pharmacy Day on the Hill, and Summer Meeting, as well as limited live or on-demand online educational program offerings. Communication of planned timelines and processes, include:

· Speaker/staff deadlines,

· Coordination of speaker and faculty communication and materials, including scheduling pre-planning calls, collection of bios, headshots, presentations, professional and conflict of interest information, and other event related logistics and follow-up,

· Collection and coordinator of on-site conference materials for each session and moderator,

· Coordination of on-site conference session staffing with TPA leadership,

· Provide exceptional customer service to members and speakers, ensuring inquiries are responded to promptly, and

· Update or revise forms, templates, and other tools used for gathering information or feedback from educational programming users, speakers, and staff as needed.

Coordinate collection and submission of necessary CE materials for various partners of TPREF and the Tennessee Pharmacists Consortium for Education (TPCE), including: South College, East Tennessee State University, and Lipscomb University.

Collaborate with TPA’s CE Administrator, ensuring compliance with Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education.

Offer educational perspective on objectives and deliverables for various grant or pharmacy practice initiatives.

Develop genuine relationships with TPA members to assess educational needs, cultivate leadership, and leadership development opportunities.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, healthcare, or similar area of study. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Desire to make a difference. Willing to take on responsibility and give away credit. Values work-life integration. Ability to exercise initiative, solve problems creatively, make independent decisions, and prioritize responsibilities. Naturally curious. Ability to work with other team members.

Preferred knowledge and competencies in: healthcare system and professional scope of practice; principles of pharmacy practice; association governance and leadership; and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook). Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint a plus. Within six months of hire, at TPA expense, will attain training from ACPE in Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in normal office setting with focused office space with personal desk and computer. Typical full-time work week is 40 hours; the office is open Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. Flexibility may be granted. This position is estimated to be 10-15 hours per week.

TPA offers a competitive salary for part-time workers, including the ability to participate in 401(k) plan and a stipend for medical insurance. TPA provides a work culture and supportive environment for professional growth and a rewarding career.

TPA staff are currently flexible working in the office and remotely. TPA’s full-time work schedule provides flexibility with 2 days/week required at the office, and work-for-your-day for 3 days/week. TPA staff members follow a core working schedule from 10:00 am CST to 3:00 pm CST. Part-time staff members are encouraged to mimic a similar pattern.

Office equipment is provided for home and work offices. Position reports directly to the CEO of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association.
