The Director of Academic Projects and Analytics Support is a key leadership role responsible for supporting strategic academic decision-making through data-driven insights and ensuring compliance with online and digital learning standards. Reporting directly to the Division of Academic Affairs, and the Office of the Provost, the Director provides daily oversight and support of academic planning initiatives through collaboration with academic leaders, faculty, and staff to align academic programs, special projects, and initiatives with institutional goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices in higher education. As this position will manage multiple projects and engage with diverse stakeholders across the university, the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively as a team member is a critical component of the position.

Required Education
Preferred Education
Doctorate in Higher Education/Business Administration or Leadership, Data/Business Analytics, Public Policy, Project Management, or a related field that provides the experience, skills, and competencies for the position. Certifications or substantive work experience can mitigate educational preparation in a specific discipline.
Preferred Experience
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed. Occasional travel to attend conferences or statewide system meetings.
Compensation And Benefits
Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Pay grade 15. Benefits Information
Tennessee Tech offers a competitive benefits package. Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.

Essential Functions
Academic Planning and Strategy Support
- Develop and implement strategic academic planning frameworks in collaboration with university leadership.
- Engage with market analysis software and environmental scans to support the development of new academic programs and the evaluation of existing ones.
- Provide support to the Division of Academic Affairs on special projects and initiatives, academic policies, instructional accessibility compliance requirements, and data interpretation.
- Facilitate the preparation of academic plans and reports to support institutional priorities and state/federal needs.
- Serve as a liaison to academic units for academic planning initiatives, including program development.
- Partner with deans, department chairs, faculty, and support units to develop strategies that optimize program delivery.
- Provide analytical insights into emerging trends and benchmarks in digital learning to guide institutional decision-making.
- Serve as a liaison to academic units through engagement with academic and market analytics software to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of academic data to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifies and communicates data insights about trends and issues within the division through data reporting that is digestible and accessible.
- Coordinate efforts to maintain quality assurance in online and digital learning environments through systematic planning and evaluation.
- Support institutional compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements related to online and digital learning delivery.
- Inform policies and procedures that address instructional digital accessibility, academic integrity, and student privacy in online and digital learning environments.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Office, Accessible Education Center, and other units to monitor and interpret policy changes affecting higher education compliance and provide guidance to academic leadership.
- Work closely with deans, department chairs, and faculty to align academic initiatives with institutional goals.
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration to enhance faculty and student success in online and digital learning delivery.
- Represent the Office of the Provost on committees and task forces related to academic planning and analytics.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Provost and/or Provost.
Required Education
- Master’s degree in Higher Education/Business Administration or Leadership, Data/Business Analytics, Public Policy, Project Management, or a related field that provides the experience, skills, and competencies for the position. Certifications or substantive work experience can mitigate educational preparation in a specific discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in academic planning and analytics, or related roles in higher education.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and leverage analytics to verbally communicate out insights to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to create written proposals, narratives, or reports that clearly communicate data/concepts/needs to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experience leading collaborative projects and initiatives in a university setting.
- Experience with online and digital education.
- Demonstrated experience managing accreditation processes or similar academic program review process.
- Strong knowledge of online and digital education trends.
- Strong knowledge of accreditation standards, compliance regulations, and institutional research methodologies.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SPSS) and information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft).
- Proficiency with shared drives, presentation tools, web conference systems, and software/database management tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
