Essential Functions
The selected candidate will teach three Criminology / Criminal Justice courses annually, which represent a 50% reduction of the typical departmental teaching load. The selected applicant must also carry out chair responsibilities including but not limited to : budget supervision, annual evaluation of faculty, supervision of departmental staff, recruitment and retention of faculty and students, management and improvement of curricula, course scheduling, faculty, staff, and student development, program assessments and reviews, serving on departmental, college, and university level committees, interacting with other departments and university leaders to represent the goals of the department, strategic planning, and providing leadership and vision within the department.
Minimum Qualifications
A PhD is required from an accredited institution. The Candidate should be eligible for appointment at the level of Associate or Full Professor in Sociology, Criminology, Criminal Justice, or related fields, with experience teaching criminology classes. The selected applicant must be published in the field and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and active learning teaching pedagogies. Available teaching evaluations and / or summaries should be provided to the search committee.
