What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst, CES Contracts II position at Tennessee Valley Authority?
Member of a CES contracts team responsible for agreements that secure, in total, billions of dollars of TVA revenue, power supply, fuels, and related rights and responsibilities. Work includes a broad scope of contract administration, project management, and program administration activities performed under the supervision of a higher level Analyst, Specialist, or department supervisor. Responsible for reviewing, reading, analyzing, processing, indexing, and abstracting key contracts. Serves as a subject matter expert on existing contractual obligations and terms. Responsible for implementing best practices in the development of program documentation, including contracts, program implementation, and program and contract administration. Consultant to CES management and internal and external business partners.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for in depth and detailed review and analysis of all contract parameters including critical contract triggers.
- Experienced professional with expertise in analyzing contracts; works independently to interpret and prepare analysis of CES contracts.
- Supports the development, implementation, and administration of TVA programs.
- Develops strategies and provides recommendations to senior management to address contract issues.
- Independently monitors contract relationships in order to prevent contract administration errors.
- Maintains customer/counterparty contract information that is shared real-time with other TVA organizations in support of system operations.
- Consults with Office of General Counsel on the interpretation of CES contracts.
- Has a working knowledge of the utility industry, TVA’s power supply and demand, fuels, pricing products, and/or TVA’s other CES contractual relationships.
- Possesses the skills to use TVA’s technology resources to document contractual relationships.
- Responsible for supporting the organization on various company-wide projects and teams.
Education — Bachelor’s degree with high academic credentials. A master’s degree or other advanced degree is desirable.
Experience — At least three years of business experience with responsibility in handling administration, drafting, interpretation, enforcement, and/or analysis of contracts. Prior utility experience is desirable.
Certification/License, etc — None required; PMP, Legal/Paralegal, LSS, or other relevant certification is desirable
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Must be organized and detail-oriented, and have the ability to develop, implement, and accurately interpret program documentation, including contracts. Requires demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements. Must have project management skills and the ability to resolve problems under pressure while exercising tact and sound judgment. Proficient in the use of computers including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Must be able to produce high quality, error-free work under high pressure conditions and tight deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
