Tennis Memphis is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to build a better community and enhance lives through tennis and education. Tennis Memphis provides youth programs after school and during the summer, including our comprehensive year-round Junior Development, Tennis and Tutoring (TnT), free tennis clinics and outreach programs and USTA programming. We manage several City of Memphis public tennis centers: Eldon Roark in Whitehaven, Frayser, Leftwich, Raleigh and Wolbrecht Tennis Centers.
In August of this year, the Leftwich Tennis Center in Memphis, Tenn., was named the "Featured Facility of the Year," the highest honor bestowed by the USTA on a tennis facility. The Leftwich Tennis Center was one of 41 winners of the USTA’s annual Outstanding Facility Awards program, which recognizes excellence in the construction and/or renovation of tennis facilities throughout the country.
Basic Functions
Reporting directly to the Adult or Junior Head Tennis Professional, the Full-Time Tennis Professional provides
instructional aspects for all functions related to our racquets programs. They work to ensure efficiency in all programs, clinics and special events that are hosted by Tennis Memphis. Plan, manage and perform all administrative and clerical tasks necessary for the instruction of our racquets programs at Tennis Memphis.

Major Job Responsibilities
- Teaching upward of 40 hours per week through group and private lessons, and programs.
- Instruct new and existing adult and youth tennis programs.
- Administer on court check-in and class size management for tennis programs.
- Be engaged and willing to be staffed for any and all tennis programs.
- Teach group and private tennis programs as needed.
- Consistently demonstrates leadership behaviors aligned with Tennis Memphis values.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience required in the racquet industry.
- Experience with large and small group lessons.
- Experience with all levels of tennis instruction from youth to seniors.
- Outstanding organizational and administrative skills.
- A passion to create a memorable customer experience for our clients.
- Certified by USPTA and/ or PTR

Physical Requirements
Office is located at Leftwich Tennis Center. Regular communication and contact with employees and members. Repetitive keyboard activity and sitting at computer; standing and moving around the facility for extended periods of time.
