The engineering manager oversees all integrated systems of engineering, from specification creation to manufacturing. This role involves setting up processes, systems, and products to meet the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers to efficiently execute product development and engineering projects.
- Oversee new product introduction, including design, prototyping, testing, and launch.
- Ensure that all products meet industry standards and company quality requirements.
- Conduct and oversee factory audits to ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Design and develop products, including material selection, manufacturability assessments, and cost optimization.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in engineering and manufacturing operations.
- Maintain regulatory compliance by staying up-to-date with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering initiatives with business goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in engineering leadership within the interconnect industry.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and standards (UL, ISO, IPC, RoHS, REACH, etc.).
- Experience with factory audits and supplier qualification processes.
- Proven track record of successful product design, development, and introduction.
- Strong project management skills and ability to oversee multiple engineering initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of automation and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Background in cost optimization and value engineering.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin a plus.
