Job Description

Job Title: Housekeeper

Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Property Manager

Effective Date: October 16th, 2023

General Summary:

The Housekeeper will be responsible for the cleanliness of the clubhouse, gym, model apartments, vacant units, common areas; including hallways.

Essential Functions:

• Clean apartment rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, laundry room and other work areas so that health standards are met
• Clean up to 2 apartments
• Service the clubhouse, gym, common areas and model apartment daily.
• Clean N building once a week

Supporting Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions.

• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers
• Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary
• Observe precautions required to protect the apartment and guest property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures
• Ability to utilize all tools and supplies necessary including cleaning supplies and vacuum
• Ability to fully follow supervisors directions

Qualification Standards

Communication:

Strong communication skills; including the ability to deal effectively with vastly diverse groups of people and guests.

Education:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience:

Preferred: One year of prior experience in the housekeeping function.

Appearance:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, and be standing or walking for an extended period of time
• Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction

• Ability to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs. unassisted
• Must be able to push and pull weight equaling 100 lbs
• Manual dexterity of hands in order to manipulate cleaning supplies
• Ability to see within normal parameters
• Ability to hear within normal range
• Ability to climb stairs
