Business Systems Analyst
Schedule Type : Hybrid.Must report on campus in Vienna, VA at least 2 days per week in alignment with client's Hybrid Policy Guidelines. Candidates are required to currently reside within a commutable distance to Vienna, VA to be considered!
Work Hours : Standard shift : 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM est M-F.
Candidates are required to be legally authorized to work in the United States without a sponsoring employer indefinitely. At this time, we can only accept the following : US Citizens, GC Holders, GC EAD, TN Visa.
W2 Contract- We CANNOT do C2C arrangements
Critical Requirements for Success
Strong experience in requirements gathering .
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , with the ability to build strong relationships across business units and partners.
A self-driven mindset with the ability to work independently, overcome challenges, and resolve ambiguous or outdated feature outlines.
Proficiency in creating process flows and state diagrams .
Comprehensive understanding of custom-code development and process automation .
Position Overview
As a Business Systems Analyst you will play a vital role in analyzing and documenting requirements, workflows, and functionality for our client's Real Estate Lending (REL) . This position involves collaborating with REL Technology leadership to manage product boards and backlogs. Work is performed under general supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Communication & Collaboration :
Clearly present status updates, challenges, and solutions in various written and verbal formats.
Facilitate and lead product-related meetings.
Serve as a liaison between REL Technology teams and other business systems areas, including REL / Mortgage production units as needed.
Requirements Analysis & Documentation :
Conduct in-depth requirements analysis and validation for mortgage-related processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards.
Elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements using techniques such as interviews, document analysis, use cases, storyboards, and diagrams.
Represent requirements using models, prototypes, epics, features, stories, or product backlog items to ensure clear communication with stakeholders.
Backlog & Product Management :
Author, review, and refine user stories, features, and product backlog items. Provide critical feedback to improve clarity and scope.
Manage and maintain product boards and backlogs, tracking changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Problem Solving & Process Improvement :
Solve business problems by defining systems solutions, interviewing stakeholders, evaluating alternatives, and presenting findings.
Proactively identify and address issues or risks, offering well-considered solutions.
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance industry / domain-specific knowledge and stay updated on emerging products and technologies.
Project Management :
Manage medium-to-large projects or product lines independently or as part of a team.
Create and communicate actionable artifacts that translate business needs into executable requirements.
Additional Duties :
Present project or product-related material at meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Proven expertise in requirements gathering and documentation for complex systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement.
Ability to create and manage process flows, state diagrams, and other technical artifacts.
Familiarity with product backlog management tools and practices.
Experience in the real estate lending or mortgage domain is a plus.
