About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our team in an engineering services company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, training, employee relations, attendance and leave management, and compliance with labor laws. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities:

Compliance and Policy Enforcement:

  • Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations such as EEOC, MCHR, FLSA, FMLA, and ACA.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Implement recruiting procedures, coordinate the recruitment team, and ensure compliance with US labor laws in cooperation with the HR Recruiting Department of the Group.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews, manage background checks and drug screening processes.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new hires, including leading new-hire orientations and assisting employees in acclimating to company procedures and culture.

Training and Development:

  • Organize and implement training programs, ensuring compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training according to company policies and HR & Safety guidelines.
  • Assist with performance evaluations and provide guidance for business operations

Employee Relations:

  • Act as the point of contact for resolving HR-related questions, comments, and concerns.
  • Support employee relations, handling employee complaints, harassment, and discrimination allegations.
  • Conduct grievance meetings and assist in higher-level grievance processes.
  • Counsel employees on personnel policies and related issues.

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Provide assistance in managing payroll and administering employee benefit programs such as insurance, 401(K), and FSA.
  • Regularly update employee work schedules and hours in the HR system, ensuring pay codes on employee timecards are accurate.

HR Systems Management:

  • Create and maintain employee files in internal HR systems to ensure accurate position and compensation data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve HR systems data replication issues.

Attendance and Leave Management:

  • Direct the leaves of absence process and coordinate daily approval dates.
  • Manage and oversee the attendance process, including reviewing points with employees and issuing discipline accordingly.

Special Projects and Administrative Duties:

  • Perform special projects and duties as assigned and requested by the Human Resources Officer of the Company, such as hiring employees, processing hiring-related paperwork, ensuring compliance with I9 rules and regulations, verifying employment eligibility (E-Verify), coordinating and supporting HR in immigration activities, maintaining current HR files, databases, and personnel-related documentation.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on key HR metrics.
  • Develop action plans to correct unfavorable metrics and report progress during management review meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and labor laws.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and systems (e.g., SAP, etc.).
