Status: Full-time (Exempt)
Position Summary
The Data Scout position will be remote reporting to the Head of Data Analytics & Technical Scouting. The Data Scout’s remit is to scout prospective targets using data and video analysis. Working across all age groups the Data Scout is responsible for: watching games, clipping games, creating analysis videos, reporting, and managing all content generated by others of the Data Analytics department. Work must be consistently of a high standard where accuracy and attention to detail are a prerequisite. The role requires a high level of technical competency and proficiency in several specific software packages; Wyscout, Keynote/PowerPoint, Pages/Word as well as programming language such as Python or R. The Data Scout is required to maintain active shortlists for all players assessed and must be able to work in a fast-paced, modern, digital environment where high pressure and high expectations are normal. They should always embody personal and professional excellence.

Primary Responsibilities
- Play a role in the Club’s talent identification process.
- Use video analysis to proactively identify talent playing in all senior and emerging talent markets – globally.
- Maintain active shortlists based on predefined Charlotte FC criteria.
- Ensure excellent communication and collaboration exists within the department.
- Be an active and present member of the Data Analytics and Scouting Department.
- Monitor designated leagues and targets.
- Manage content across a variety of media – written and visual.
- Be comfortable with modern scouting methods to identify, record and track talent.
- Deliver to deadlines, ensuring accuracy and consistency exists at all times.
- Contribute to scouting auditing process.
- Be available and willing to cover live games as and when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in Soccer Scouting and Analysis.
- A deep understanding of the soccer landscape, MLS, USL, Academy and college soccer.
- Have a proven track record in data scouting and recruitment, views scouting as a profession.
- Must be flexible to work evenings and/or weekends, including events held on weekends, nights, and holidays when necessary.
- Must be flexible and willing to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to drive to matches and training sessions as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Scouting qualification
- Bilingual or multi-lingual skills

Work Environment:
This job operates mostly in an office environment and outside on athletic fields at times which may include inclement weather conditions. This position may often require travel both domestic and international. This position may often require remote work based on business needs.
