Teresian House is looking for charismatic people to work as Catering Assistants. These are part time positions:
- Part time Evenings shifts (must be able to work 5 shifts/wk 3pm-7p including every other weekend)
Our Catering Assistants have a passion for food and the desire to deliver an excellent service at each meal to make our residents feel at home with a pleasant dining experience. As a Catering Assistant you will act as a link between the main kitchen and our residents. You will take the patient's menu selections prior to meals, set up and break down the kitchen and dining room for each meal period, maintain the highest standard for cleanliness and organize all work areas, equipment and utensils. You will also need to communicate with the nursing department, clinical dieticians and other personnel to provide excellent resident services. All employees MUST abide by food prep health and safety guidelines.
Qualified candidates for a Catering Assistant position will have the ability to read, write legibly, and understand written and verbal instructions. You will need to have basic math skills and the ability to learn and operate the use of various household appliances such as a clothes washer and dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and more. Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills are very important. Experience working in a long-term care environment, working with the elderly population, food service, or housekeeping experience are all preferred.
