We’re seeking for a DSP-1 Direct Support Professional Immerison to join our TERI team!
The DSP-1 Direct Support Professional Immersion is a short-term role focused on training to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). This role is responsible for completing all necessary steps in attaining the RBT Certification, including the completion of TERI New Hire Orientation Training, 40-hour Online RBT Training, successful performance passing the required RBT Competency Assessment, and achieving a passing score on the National RBT exam. Additionally, during the final two to three weeks of the Immersion training, the DSP-1 Immersion staff will work as substitute 1:1 support at the Learning Academy.
TRAINING –
Week 1: Complete 40 hours of New Hire Orientation Training.
Week 2: Complete 40 hours of Online Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Training.
Week 3: Complete and successfully pass the RBT Competency Assessment.
Week 4: Take the National RBT Exam and achieve a passing grade within the timeline of the Immersion Program.
ALL OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES –
- Working 1:1 substitute staff at the Learning Academy.
- Assures that choices are an integral part of students’ day and assures that these are available; honors individual choices whenever are possible based on safety and individuals’ needs and restrictions.
- Delivers individual program plans, goals, behavior support plans as designed, provide active support and assist with self-care to all students when needed.
- Assist with interventions designed to protect all students and individuals who engage in severe problem behavior, including those around them.
- Provides direct care and training to developmental individuals with moderate to profound disability who may engage in aggressive, assaultive acting-out behaviors that require Behavior Emergency Safety Training (BEST) techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS –
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- One-Year experience working directly with children or adults with Developmental / Intellectual disabilities.
Salary Range –
$20.00 - $30.00 Hourly
