Job Summary
The Receiving Specialist plays a key role in managing the receipt and inspection of materials and goods delivered to the manufacturing plant. This role requires verifying deliveries, documenting receipts, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate should have at least 2-4 years of experience in a receiving or warehouse environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Unload incoming shipments and verify items against purchase orders or packing slips to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect materials and goods for any damage or discrepancies, reporting issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Accurately record and label received items, ensuring proper tracking and inventory control.
- Complete and maintain detailed receiving reports, documenting quantities, conditions, and other relevant information.
- Update inventory management systems with accurate data regarding the received goods.
- Assist with the organization and proper storage of received materials in designated locations to ensure easy access and inventory integrity.
- Perform basic quality checks to confirm that received items meet the required standards.
- Report any quality concerns or discrepancies to the appropriate departments for further inspection and resolution.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols when handling materials and operating equipment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices related to receiving and inventory management.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to verify and document received items accurately.
- Capable of lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
- Proficient with basic computer skills and familiar with inventory management software or systems.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory-related role is preferred.
- Basic understanding of inventory management systems, receiving processes, and material handling best practices.
Working conditions
- Working conditions may include working outside of a climate-controlled environment for long periods of time.
- PPE is required per company procedures and includes safety shoes, safety glasses and safety vest.
Physical requirements
Walking, sitting, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
