Job Description
Installation Crew Daily Expectations
The overall mission of the installation crew is to be a part of a team in efficiently creating high quality products for our clients with professionalism and a mind for promoting our local ecology.
We strive to blend craftsmanship and nature, by building bad ass stuff with native plantings and locally sourced material (as much as possible). We want to be the best local design/build landscaping company.
Team
Follow the instruction of your crew lead in daily priorities, but we want you to take initiative on the job sites. Do not just stand around and wait for instruction.
Use proper techniques and tool safety to perform daily tasks. If uncertain how to perform a task or use a tool, ask your crew lead. That is why they are there.
Take responsibility for the status of the job and quality of work, and call fellow team members to the highest standards.
Be the onsite representative of the business. Give our clients 200% Listen to clients but kindly direct them to speak with the crew lead or project manager. Do not commit to work outside of scope.
If a team member is not working to our standards, assume the best and bring them alongside you to help.
B. Efficiency
Be on time everyday. Being 10 minutes late could cost by holding up entire crew. You should know which truck, jobsite, and tasks are for the day by reading EOD notes.
Load up of tools should be 15 minutes. Do not forget tools. Ensure proper tools and materials are put away at the end of day to avoid theft or rain damage.
Plan ahead: look over designs, documents, and schedule on Buildertrend. Look ahead to make sure we do not have to repeat task or undo work already completed.
Make sure you are clocked in to the correct job, take breaks, and clocked out everyday. TAKE A LUNCH.
We are task oriented. Work to stay on schedule while having fun.
Make sure tools are in working condition. If not, inform the crew lead immediately to get replacement or fix.
Our shovels are delicate, so no leaning on them while watching someone else do the work.
C. High Quality
Always check Buildertrend, design, documents and with crew lead for questions, but do not hesitate to communicate concerns or questions project managers. Communication is communicaring. Avoid asking clients questions, which could communicate lack of comprehension of design and scope of work.
No cutting corners. We want to be known for our quality of work. We want efficiency without a loss of quality.
Cleanliness is next to godliness- Ensure trucks and shop are left clean daily. Easier to maintain high standards, then it is to bring our standards back up.
Respect for clients property. Any damage that may have occurred by our crew must be reported. Work carefully around our clients existing landscape to avoid any corrections. Leave site tidy every day. Any tools and material left on site should be collected in an out-of-view area. Make sure the site is not a safety hazard to the clients. Trash must be removed daily. Environmentally-friendly- Keep in mind not to be wasteful or leave anything that may pollute.
Finish tasks 100%- Do not demo 80% and do some other task for a few days. You will end up re-doing most of the demo already done if not done to completion.
D. Reporting
Return all receipts to the office with job name listed somewhere on the receipt.
Accurately record hours via BuilderTrend and let office know of any errors with your timesheets before payroll has run.
Please contact the office if you are concerned at all with the safety equipment available to you on site.
If you have any ideas on how to make the work flow better, please let us know.
