Position Description
We currently have an opportunity for a Controller. Under the direction of the CFO, this position will oversee financial aspects of the organization, including financial reporting, job costing, inventory management, tracking fixed assets, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses.
· Conduct job costing financial analysis to provide insights on performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
· Lead and assist Inventory Control Specialist with inventory control processes to minimize stock-outs, excess inventory, and associated carrying costs.
· Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activities, including ensuring the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts, etc. and processing of invoices, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing and tax compliance.
· Implement cost control measures as instructed to optimize expenses without compromising product quality or operational efficiency.
· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial legal requirements.
· Mitigate financial risks by developing and maintaining internal controls and procedures.
· Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
· Collaborate with CFO to develop annual budgets and monitor budget performance throughout the year.
· Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support the CFO’s efforts in strategic planning.
· Assist in decision-making related to capital expenditures to maximize return on investment.
· Collaborate with the CFO to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals.
· Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business planning and growth initiatives.
· Perform other duties as required.
Position Skills and Requirements
Bachelors’ degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required. Five years of proven experience as a Controller or senior financial management role required, preferably in manufacturing. CPA a plus. Inventory Management background preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, tax regulations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processing.
