Job Summary
The Cleaning Dock Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily dock operations, ensuring the efficient and safe barge cleaning operations. This role supervises dock workers, coordinates barge cleaning and cover handling, enforces safety standards, and maintains compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of dock staff including barge cleaning and cover handling operations.
- Collect water samples
- Monitor and maintain dock cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Collaborate with dispatch, boat pilots and office personnel.
- Train, coach, and evaluate dock personnel to promote a high-performance work environment.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety policies and conduct regular safety checks.
- Maintain documentation and records related to barge cleaning, cover handling, water samples, inventory, and staff activities.
- Address and resolve operational issues and escalate when necessary.
- Operate skid steers, crane and backhoe
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: 1 year in a supervisory role. Previous experience working in marine industry a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse/dock setting.
- May require night, weekend, or holiday shifts depending on operational needs.
