What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Sales Manager position at Terre Haute Casino Resort?
SUMMARY
The Group Sales Manager is responsible for selling space and our amenity capabilities to clients and overseeing and coordinating the sale with our banquet captain and operations personnel to meet client expectations.

- To sell the property as an entertainment and business space option; exceed our guest’s expectations by giving them a quality product and the ultimate customer service experience; and operate at a profit while keeping costs to a minimum
- Manage/develop business to secure new and repeat business through sales efforts
- Effective management and assessment of all sales opportunities as they progress through a multi-step sales cycle to a successful close
- Develop and build relationships with client customers through exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- Provide venue/pricing information and facility tours to current and potential clients
- Develop facility contracts and collect deposits for events
- Reconcile monthly expenses, budgets and invoices (including purchase requisitions, check requests and expense reports)
- Monitor and track incoming charitable requests and fulfill in-kind donations for not-for-profit organizations
- Assist with team member charitable volunteer functions and charitable campaigns.

- Able to respond to customer’s needs and make decisions that are beneficial to both the customer and the property
- Understand and represent Terre Haute Casino Resort image and reputation both at work and at functions outside the property

- Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; and two to three years of experience in sales in the hospitality industry with related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent computer and telephone skills required.
MATH ABILITY
Ability to perform basic mathematical skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Candidate must be experienced in Microsoft Office.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate applicable licensing.
