Quality Engineer
Location: Canton, GA area
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our manufacturing processes and products meet and exceed both our high standards and those of our customers in the automotive industry. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will apply your expertise in the AIAG Core Tools to enhance our quality systems, contributing to our status as a preferred Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier to leading automotive manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage quality control initiatives, processes, and procedures using the AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA) to ensure product quality and compliance with automotive standards.
- Lead the development and maintenance of APQP documentation to support the product lifecycle, from conception through production and delivery.
- Conduct FMEA sessions to identify potential risks in product design and manufacturing processes, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage the PPAP submission process to automotive customers, ensuring all parts meet stringent quality requirements and specifications.
- Utilize SPC to monitor and control manufacturing processes, identifying trends and initiating corrective actions as needed to maintain product quality.
- Perform MSA to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement systems, gauges, and instruments used in the quality control process.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Serve as a quality expert within the company, providing training and support to team members on quality standards and the use of AIAG Core Tools.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and lead cross-functional teams in developing and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive quality standards, including ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949, and ensure compliance throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the automotive industry.
- Experience with some of the AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, etc.)
- Experience with Automotive quality standards - IATF 16949
Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
