In addition to maintaining manufacturing equipment and processes, Process Engineers on the Model 3 Body-in-White team work with cross-functional teams throughout the factory to solve issues related to efficiency, safety, and quality. You will work closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance and External Vendors to analyze and improve current production processes, including, but not limited to, the modification of existing production lines.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Design Engineering and NPI teams to drive Design for Manufacturability in future programs early in the design phase
- Analyze, design, and optimize new production processes to ensure safety while maximizing yield, capacity, and cost effectiveness to enable the build of world-class vehicles
- Develop and modify existing line layouts, processes, and fixtures to improve material flow, waste reduction, and ergonomics by utilizing Lean Manufacturing best practices
- Drive changes to improve OEE of production lines to address process bottlenecks and improve overall product output
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement to improve safety, quality, and efficiency metrics
- Maintain process and SOP documentation to ensure accuracy and standardization of existing and new processes
- Lead and support cost down measures throughout the shop to reduce the production cost of each subassembly and body produced
- Effectively communicate information and changes to key stakeholders to facilitate smooth transitions between processes and workflows
- Design, assemble, and install tooling using a variety of hand and power tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent experience
- 2 years in a hands-on manufacturing environment
- Able to function independently, be a strong team player, detail oriented, organized, hands-on and able to demonstrate strong Mechanical Engineering principles
- Work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments, coping with a rapidly changing environment
- Have working knowledge of Design for Manufacturability
- Strong familiarity with structured problems solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, etc.)
- Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD software (Autocad, Solidworks, CATIA, 3D Experience, etc.)
- General knowledge of GD&T and Manufacturing drawings

$80,000 - $144,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
