Tesla Gigafactory Nevada is looking for a Process Piping Designer to support bringing conceptual designs to life, producing cutting-edge detailed design of chemical and utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing processes. As a key contributor on our infrastructure group, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to design and build manufacturing facilities and process utility systems. This full-time employee position is located at our Gigafactory in Sparks, NV.

Responsibilities
- Provide advanced drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining construction drawings, facilities layouts, and engineering drawings
- Produce complex technical drawings including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and pipe routing drawings for permit, construction, and fabrication
- Develops simple to mid-level designs/layouts through fabrication level 3D models and spool drawings
- Develop equipment and system layouts that confirm to building codes and standards and consider long-term O&M
- Prepares designs and bill of material estimates from general instruction
- Conduct field surveys and as-builts of 3D pipe routing
- Coordinate with other disciplines; work closely with our structural engineering team for pipe supports and seismic bracing; BIM engineers on overall modelling standards; system owners to understand overall process utility system capacities and performance
Requirements
- 4 years experience in wet mechanical/piping drafting or process/chemical system design experience (E.g. Hydronic heating/cooling, pure water RO/DI, wastewater, compressed air, bulk gas storage and distribution, bulk chemical storage and distribution)
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT
- Knowledge of different piping systems and joining methods
- Experience with Revit fabrication components or Fabricator CADmep a plus
- Experience with design calculations, pipe sizing, and equipment/material selection a plus
