Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Soft Craft and Facilities Lead to join our team at our novel battery chemical plant near Corpus Christi, TX. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of construction, commissioning, and routine maintenance activities, particularly those requiring scaffolding.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive programs for soft craft planning, scheduling, and execution, inclusive of safety standards, work practices, personnel management, and contracting strategies.
- Provide expert-level scaffolding, insulation, and painting leadership focused on safe and efficient construction, commissioning, and ultimately maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement comprehensive programs for the maintenance, repair, and improvements of all non-process facilities on-site.
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of complex scaffolds for the manufacturing team.
- Provide 24/7 break-in support as needed to minimize production and/or facilities outages.
- Onboard, train, and qualify new Tesla and/or contract resources that will be expected to execute scaffolding, insulation, painting, or facilities maintenance work on-site.
Requirements
- 8 years in an industrial manufacturing environment, with experience supporting operations and maintenance organizations.
- Strong understanding of facilities operations and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire suppression equipment.
- 5 years as a scaffold builder and 3 years of related leadership is preferred.
- Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of working-at-heights fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging technical problems.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing safety standards specific to soft crafts and facilities maintenance.
- Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours.
- Must have command of the English language both written and verbal.
