Job Overview

Tesla Motors is seeking an experienced Soft Craft and Facilities Operations Manager to join our team. This critical role will play a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of construction, commissioning, and routine maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive soft craft planning, scheduling, and execution programs, incorporating safety standards, work practices, personnel management, and contracting strategies.
• Provide expert leadership in scaffolding, insulation, and painting, focusing on safe and efficient construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
• Establish and maintain a program for the upkeep, repair, and improvement of all non-process facilities on-site.
• Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of complex scaffolds for the manufacturing team.
• Offer 24/7 break-in support as needed to minimize production and/or facilities outages.
• Onboard, train, and qualify new resources that will execute scaffolding, insulation, painting, or facilities maintenance work onsite.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, with a background supporting operations and maintenance organizations.
• Demonstrated understanding of facilities operations and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire suppression equipment.
• 5 years of experience as a scaffold builder and 3 years of related leadership is preferred.
• Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of working-at-heights fundamentals and the capacity to apply this knowledge to solve complex technical problems.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing safety standards specific to soft crafts and facilities maintenance.
• Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
