What To Expect
As a Quality Inspector for Tesla’s first lithium refinery plant near Corpus Christi, TX, you will support the construction and quality management teams to maintain site quality standards according to Tesla expectations and contract documents. You will verify the implementation of QA/QC processes and procedures on-site, collaborate across functional groups for safe and quality installations, and use technical judgment and creative problem-solving skills to support field operations.
What You'll Do
Review and approve contractor site quality plans and procedures Confirm compliance to Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s) per project specifications Verify implementation of QA/QC processes, procedures, testing, and inspections for self-perform and contractor construction work Review contractor quality turnover documentation requirements Participate in investigations and resolutions of quality related issues Coordinate third party inspections as required Ensure all field activities are being executed per project specifications, procedures, and current design documents
What You'll Bring
10 years of relevant industry experience in a multi-disciplinary QC/QA role (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants) Previous practical experience on $500M projects, preferably with experience on both “owner” and “contractor” side Demonstratable knowledge of construction industry codes (AWS, ASME, NFPA, NEC, ACI, etc) Broad knowledge of quality principles and their application to engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, and commissioning Knowledge of the application of corrective actions to reconcile nonconforming conditions Knowledge of regulatory requirements which impact the quality program Ability to navigate between QC requirements of self-perform construction and QA oversight of sub-contractor construction
