What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician, Testing, Power Electronics position at Tesla?
What You'll Do
- Work closely with the Engineering team while creating test processes
- Execute tests for Power Electronics products, including firmware and software validation testing
- Record test results in a spreadsheet and/or ticket and provide feedback to the Engineering team
- Maintain test fixtures and conduct component and system level tests
- Monitor test equipment for correct function
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues discovered during testing
- Prepare and maintain test parts, devices, and equipment. Move and carry parts to and from the testing area
- Support engineering teams in instrumentation and data acquisition
- Comply with safety policies and regulations
- Assist in design, perform builds, calibration, periodic maintenance and troubleshooting of test equipment used for reliability and testing to failure
What You'll Bring
- 2 years of experience with testing, firmware, and software development in a Power Electronics or related field
- Ability to operate safely a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and lab equipment
- Hands-on experience with test setup and execution, including data collection and analysis
- Experience with programming languages such as C , Python, or MATLAB is a plus
- Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills with a willingness to gain and share new knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively
- Familiarity with environmental stress testing or automated test systems is a plus
- Positive attitude, eager to learn, and ability to change direction quickly
- Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in a fast-paced environment
- Own assignments and take full accountability for their success
- High awareness of safety procedures and practices

$28.80 - $56.40/hour cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
