What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineering Technician position at Tesla?
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to tackle manufacturing on specialized battery electrode calendaring, lamination, and slitting equipment. You will be working alongside Engineers to develop an advanced new product and be among the first individuals to work on cutting edge manufacturing processes within Tesla. This fast-paced team is the perfect environment if you are interested in developing multiple skills and having an immediate impact on the future of electric vehicles. This is a hands-on position working with parts, equipment, and data.
Responsibilities:
- Interact daily with Manufacturing Engineers to communicate results and receive tasks
- Work with OEMS during equipment installation
- Perform equipment checks defined in SAT protocol
- Support development and refinement of manufacturing processes and equipment specifications, and participate in the continuous improvement of safety, quality, output, and tool uptime
- Operate various process equipment in the development stage and provide input to machine development
- Respond to advanced maintenance issues, identify and correct minor maintenance tasks on tools and identify root-cause issues with processes and equipment
- Conduct analytical tests, measure and record data using defined tools and software
Requirements:
- AS in a technical topic with 3 or more years work experience in a technician role
- Ability to perform hands-on tasks related to commissioning and maintenance
- Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
- Work experience in high volume manufacturing lines
- Ability to operate relevant personal computing hardware and software
- Prior experience with equipment installation and troubleshooting, manual fabrication processes, hydraulic systems and positioners, and roll-to-roll converting systems is a plus
- Experience with LOTO and similar safety practices, as well as a drive to ensure your own and other’s safety at work
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.73 - $42.33 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
