What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Service Technician position at Tesla?
Mobile Service Technicians are part of our service teams and are solely responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day service operations ensuring customer satisfaction on location. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an impeccable service experience to every Tesla customer during the maintenance and service of their vehicles. This role will be a hands-on technical role servicing the Big Island. To deliver excellent service to our customers at all times, Mobile service technicians will be provided with high quality equipment and have the latest training in our technologies.
Responsibilities

- As a Mobile Service Technician, You will be in direct contact with the customer, your interaction with our clients will have a lasting effect on their impressions of our Brand. You will understand every aspect of our objectives as well as our mission. You will be integrated into a team pushing for 100% satisfaction. We expect you to champion safety, efficiency, quality, and overall excellence in all of your actions and decisions.
- Technical acumen is required – you must develop a knowledge of all Tesla products, Service systems, processes and procedures. You will be required to help customers understand the technology and the particularities of their vehicles.
Carry out basic technical repairs and non HV diagnostic work without supervision, e.g.:
Interior components
Maintenance
Charging related issues
Alert analysis
Extensive knowledge of accessories and their functions
Implementing Recalls/Bulletins
Fluid replenishments
Door handle maintenance and adjustments
Basic Diagnostics
Body Adjustments
- Prioritize safe work and follow all safety instructions and training.
- Work with a collaborative attitude and team spirit.
- Self-manage technical expertise development.
- Follow all Tesla specified Repair Guidelines to the accepted Quality levels.
- Support other Service centers on an as- needed basis.
- Develop and maintain your own individual development plan.
- Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools.
- Maintain tools and equipment.
- Maintain records of time, expenses and materials.
- Respect deadlines and planning obligations
Requirements
- 3-4 years Technical work experience in a related technology (Aeronautics, Engines, Electrical, Automotive, Marine etc.).
- Basic command of the English Language.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- A passion for Tesla and a sound understanding of the company and its mission.
- Demonstrates a safety minded attitude.
- Motivated to work in a high paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail.
- Multitasking, organize workloads and planning.
- Work as a team over long distances and achieve common goals.
- Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair in the automotive industry.
- Be strategic and proactive. You must think and plan ahead.
- Be self-aware, flexible and open-minded.
- Possess a combination of analytical thinking, hands-on problem solving, and a customer-service mindset
- Be an advocate for your customers and your team. Your success depends on theirs.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation ($24 - $33) is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, etc.
