The Permit Coordinator will efficiently gather and submit all specified plans and applications required by the local building department to permit the design and installation of Tesla energy products. As an integral member of Tesla’s Field Operations Energy team, the Permit Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring consistent job flow and contributing to a positive customer experience.
What You'll Do
- Submit permit packets to local municipals driving permits to a zero-queue each day. Pick-up permits submitted immediately following the specified turn-around time
- Maintain checkbook and credit card transactions for each job/account. Update our internal database daily to capture nuances from jurisdiction to jurisdiction
- Communicate clearly and quickly with managers and other departments about changes to process or obstacles to work flow
- Follow-up on old cases with appropriate departments to move jobs through the permitting process as quickly as possible. Document any changes in job cases or status a minimum of two times per week
- Represent the company in a professional and friendly manner. Attend weekly team meetings; share ideas and participate in feedback
- Conduct in-person meetings with local government officials to answer any outstanding questions regarding energy products
- Work with Inspection team to smoothly and efficiently pass inspections. Assess job readiness for final inspection and schedule inspections with local building inspector. Prepare the job site for inspection including but not limited to; ladder set-up, opening electrical equipment, executing outstanding Punch-list items
What You'll Bring
- 1-2 years’ relative office or clerical experience required. 1-2 years relative work experience in general construction
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Familiar with OSHA safety rules preferred. Experience working with permits is a plus
- Able to organize time and tasks in a fast paced environment with competing priorities
- Takes initiative with solving problems. Ability to follow process within strict deadlines. Must be self-motivated and thrive in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Basic computer skills required
- Valid driver's license required

Expected Compensation
- Permit Coordinator I - $18.00 - $27.00/hour
- Permit Coordinator II - $21.24 - $31.86/hour
- Permit Coordinator III - $24.48 - $36.72/hour
- Permit Coordinator IV - $28.80 - $43.20/hour
- Permit Coordinator V - $33.12 - $49.68/hour
