ABOUT THIS POSITION

Residential Permit Coordinator is where dreams become reality in the solar process for customers. This team-oriented function requires great attention to detail and fearless follow through. The Permit Coordinator supports the work of the RPM, who provides customers with joyful service after the sale and through installation. You’ll be working with the RPM team as well as our partner installers to coordinate preparation and scheduling for residential solar and battery installations, and follow up on the details to assure customer satisfaction. You'll be working with the RPM team to complete and process paperwork such as the applications for permits and solar installation records. The position will also help keep company databases up-to-date so we can provide the best possible customer support. This position is in Kingston, NY and requires onsite and remote work.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Reporting to the Manager of Residential Projects, the Permit Coordinator will:

  • Accurately coordinate details of multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment
  • Complete applications for building departments while maintaining relationships with these authorities, as well as assisting with NYSERDA and utility applications when demands calls for it. Follow up with Customers to give them regular updates on their permit applications.
  • Schedule utility service work in coordination with solar installations and manage utility relationships.
  • Schedule electrical inspections once the installations are complete
  • Prepare documentation and present projects for approval at local planning board meetings
  • Create post-installation documents for customers
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude is absolutely key
  • Conduct friendly and professional phone and email communication with our partners and our customers
  • Prepare documents and track details for new customers, entering information in CRM
  • Participation in the process of innovation that will continue to keep our business steps ahead of the rest of the solar industry
  • Be willing to take on more as skill and comfort levels increase
Requirements:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for this position will:

  • Ability to accurately complete and process documents
  • Self-directed team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to identify and use the most effective communication tool for the situation
  • Be extremely skilled in juggling several tasks at once while remaining focused and organized
  • Actively work to make it easy for our customers to go solar
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google docs and Customer Relationship Management software
  • Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment and shift gears as needed (we call it the solar coaster).
  • Thrive in a collaborative, team atmosphere – giving and taking feedback to improve your personal performance as well as that of your team and the entire business.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
