What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Supervisor, Battery Cell Manufacturing position at Tesla?
As a Technical Supervisor you will have the critical task of managing the priorities and tasks of the engineering technician team. Your experience in fast-paced production lines as well as strong technical background will make you an ideal candidate for this role. What You'll Do

Provide technical training to all technicians (8D, Kaizen, DMAIC, lean principles)

Collaborate with the process and quality teams to support on-going projects

Work with shift managers and other production supervisors daily to create priorities

Work with cross-functional teams including process engineering, equipment engineering and maintenance teams

Drive continuous improvement project initiatives

Work with the training coordinators ensuring manufacturing Instructions, versatility matrices and other technical documentation are current

Manages the cross-shift communication for the technician teams
- Reports OEE (cycle time/availability/performance) and required headcount for each area
What You'll Bring

Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
-
5 years’ experience working in a production engineering role
- 3 years managing teams of people in a production environment
-
Must have experience managing direct reports in a production environment
-
At least 1 year of experience working in a production environment
-
Experience in process development
-
Experience in equipment maintenance a plus

Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing and 6-Sigma principles

Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
