What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Coordinator position at Tesla?
Tesla is looking for an individual experienced with training personnel on manufacturing best practices to contribute to the Cathode Materials team at Gigafactory Texas. As a Training Specialist, you will build a world-class manufacturing training program from the ground up. You will leverage your experience in production operations, adult learning principles, and process optimization to support operational excellence. Applicants will have a passion for, and understanding of, personal development through the training process. You must have outstanding communication, presentation, and organizational skills while demonstrating a positive, motivational, and professional appearance. A strong sense of ownership and accountability is expected. Instructors will provide support to students and fellow staff members, work in a lab setting providing hands-on instruction with safety in mind, keep accurate records of student achievement, and an ability to maintain discipline in a classroom setting. In this role, you will work within the Quality Systems organization supporting the development of the Production team.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain documentation (lesson plans, instructor guides, visuals, etc.) to support the overall structured manufacturing training program
- Facilitate new hire Production Associates through all phases of the structured manufacturing training program, including extended onboarding as well as documenting attendance and evaluate assessments and / or feedback for all training activities
- Qualify production line personnel as On-the-Job trainers
- Provide on-shift training support for production associates and production line leadership, as required
- Benchmark actual workstation production sequence / conditions against current job-task list and training program materials
- Solicit, document, and disposition feedback from respective production line leadership
- Review and update department program documentation and production Manufacturing Instructions, as assigned and determine appropriate training method for Manufacturing Instructions updates
