Lead ESL Teacher

This position is eligible for a $5,000 Stipend. Candidate must be fully credentialed and hold an active EL Educator State License.

The Opportunity: PLA Lead ESL Teachers are passionate and devoted leaders bringing creativity and rigor to our classrooms to support an improved learning experience for our scholars. Our teachers are compassionate and committed to building a caring environment that nurtures the success of our school community. The Lead Teacher role was created to facilitate communication in the schools among General and EL Educators as well as administrators. The Lead also serves as a liaison to the National Team.

The Details

Key Deliverables

• Maintains caseload list/assignment organization
• Establishes and monitors caseload scheduling/organization
• Attend and support facilitation of PD and PLC meetings/workshops
• Attend ILP meetings to ensure compliance
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with classroom teachers, administrators, staff, and parents/guardians
• Provides differentiated coaching support through co-teaching methods and modeling to provide effective feedback
• Assists in the coordination of testing programs
  
  

Experience And Education Requirements

• Valid EL State Teacher License
• A passion for working with students and families in under-served communities
• Bachelor”s degree or higher from an accredited college or university; with appropriate endorsements, if applicable
• Effective pedagogical skills driven by standards and data-driven assessment
• Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction

The Campus: Campus: Hope Community PCS - Tolson is a public charter school in Washington, D.C. that was founded in 2006 and recently joined the PLA network in 2022. We serve about 250 scholars from PK - 8th grade with a school population that is reflective of the strength and diversity of the community in which we are privileged to serve. PLA School Teachers receive a base salary that is competitively aligned with the market. In addition to a base salary, PLA School Teachers receive:
