What are the responsibilities and job description for the Want to get experience in IT? This is a paid IT internship at a school position at Tess?
This is a paid internship (with hands-on training of IT skills) at a school in Cupertino.
It requires on-campus work. This is a good job for both experienced people and folks who are new to IT, because we have scaled-up the tasks for people with more experience (we have trained everything from A/V to Linux servers).
* Do you like helping people?
* Do you have some experience helping people with tech?
* Do you want some cooperative help to complete IT projects (instead of sink-or-swim)?
* Do you like a mix of following instructions and the creative process of troubleshooting?
* Do you want to get more experience in IT?
This may be a great opportunity for a tech-student or someone with experience in customer service, IT-tutoring, Audio/Visual, email list management and/or Google Docs.
Future employers usually want people with experience in IT and this opportunity could put you ahead of the competition.
Prior interns have said that they are getting many more interview-offers since getting this internship and everyone said that they learned new things at this job.

Each week, we will train you in specific areas of IT and then you will apply them with specific tasks (such as system setup, AP config, documentation writing and more).
Your people-skills and learning-speed are more important to us than your technical-skills.
We will provide you with weekly hands-on technical lessons, projects, or challenges in an IT area. Topics will range widely from creating a table-top network, or troubleshooting audio-visual systems, or tutoring someone how to use a feature in Google Sheets, or researching Google Drive permissions, or updating inventory.
You will probably enjoy this internship of you like: Organizing things & data as well as helping people (in-person and on email), learning new things.
Note that we have some COVID-19 preferences (you may need to wear a mask indoors, depending on community spread and local policies) although some of the work can be done outside, weather permitting.

* You must have time available in your schedule to arrive on-campus once a week for 2 hours.

* You will need to have reliable transportation to the Cupertino area (we are near 85 and DeAnza).
* You may need to show proof of a recent COVID-19 booster (Aug. 2023 or sooner).
* You must be willing to take a COVID-19 rapid-test, but this is currently very rare (depends on community spread and local policy).
* This position will pay $22/hour as a 1099 contractor.
* This position requires about 2 hours per week of work with a possible extension at our discretion, based on budget and schedules.

* Must be able to lift 20 pounds from the floor and place it on a shelf that starts at five feet.
* Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
* While we will teach some troubleshooting techniques, it would be a bonus if you can troubleshoot basic network connectivity, operating system bottlenecks, maintaining basic printer mechanics and understand how to manipulate Google Sheets.
* No alumni, friends or family of the school faculty or parents may participate.
The school is an Equal Opportunity Employer — we do not discriminate against any employee or job applicant on the bases of race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, sex, or reproductive health decision making.
