Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing)

Testudo is seeking skilled Medical Supply Technicians (Sterile Processing) to join our team at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center and Loveland VA Outpatient Clinic. This role is vital in ensuring the proper decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment across multiple hospital departments.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of at least 12 semester hours in courses such as medical supply, processing, storage, and distribution, sterile supplies, operating room, and surgical technician courses, or other field related to the profession.
• Extensive knowledge of instrument sterilization, high-level disinfection, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to identify, assemble, and troubleshoot surgical instruments used in various medical procedures.
• Experience operating automated washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilization equipment.
• Certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST, CSPDT, or VA-equivalent training) preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and properly decontaminate surgical instruments from operating rooms, dental clinics, endoscopy units, and specialty clinics.
• Utilize steam sterilizers, V-Pro gas plasma units, and Trophon disinfecting systems for sterilization and high-level disinfection.
• Assemble specialty surgical trays and sets, ensuring instrument functionality and integrity.
• Perform post-sterilization inspections to verify sterility indicators and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain compliance with VA Sterile Processing policies, AAMI, and HSPA standards.
• Assist in maintaining inventory, restocking sterilized instruments, and responding to urgent supply needs.
• Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to provide timely and accurate instrument processing.

Work Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours/week.
• Start mid-April
• Contract duration: 04/12/2025 – 04/11/2026, with four additional option years.
• Location: Cheyenne VA Medical Center, 2360 E Pershing Blvd, Cheyenne, WY 82001.
