JOB SUMMARY
Maintain and repair physical buildings and grounds in order to continue ongoing high quality and safety for patients,
employees and visitors. Performs duties according to the Scope of Service for the maintenance department. Adheres
to and practices the SJH Corporate Compliance Program and participates in Performance Improvement activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides general maintenance service to St. John's Health and affiliated properties, and other projects as needed.
Attentive to every detail of finished projects. Takes pride in a job well done which may include assembling equipment;
mounting equipment and art work; moving furniture; repairs walls, floors, workstations and furniture; re-conditioning
furniture; various tasks to maintain the hospital grounds.
Takes direction well and follows through with assigned tasks. Maintains, develops and updates skills to implement
ideal service.
Ongoing commitment to improving our finished product and customer service through skills improvement and seeking
better ways to accomplish tasks.
Flexible in meeting deadlines and can handle multiple tasks.
Consistently uses gloves, eye protection and other safety equipment as required. Works safely in public areas; takes
precautions to protect public and coworkers. Properly places and uses tools and equipment, protecting self and
others.

Minimum Work Experience
Required: Basic knowledge of tools and general repair, neat and clean appearance. General maintenance aptitude. Willingness
to cooperate and learn. Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to meet time
schedules. Valid driver's license required.
Required Licenses: Valid driver's license
Working Conditions
Hospital clinical and office settings. Indoor and outdoor work. Potential hazards such as high voltages, machinery,
bio-hazardous wastes, elevated work areas, occasional temperature extremes, exposure to chemicals. Must be onsite
at the SJH campus or other facilities to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds. 95% of the time standing and walking. Intermittent sitting. Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach
above shoulders, push and pull.
