PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Strategic planning and ongoing project and facilities management of the division
- Prepares, implements, and monitors annual operating, capital, and special project revenue and expenses, participates in fund raising, grant writing and reporting
- Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned personnel, provides coordinates staff training and development; conducts annual works plans and performance evaluations
- Prepares, updates and trains staff on workplace safety and public infrastructure safety
- Manages and directs program of urban forestry for the Town of Jackson, and serves as the Urban Forest Manager per Town Ordinance
- Maintains natural resource compliance and permitting through conservation easements and federal regulatory agencies
- Represents the department for Town of Jackson planning and development review for public infrastructure, parks and pedestrian circulation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation Management, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, or a related field
- 3 years of experience as an Administrator or Manager in department or function
- 7 years progressive experience in staff supervision, business management and Horticulture, Forestry or Parks maintenance and/or construction management
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess or ability to obtain a valid Wyoming/Idaho driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Required Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices in park facility maintenance and operations
- Principles and practices in turf management and horticulture
- Principles and practices of Urban Forest Management and Arboriculture
- Principles and practices of risk management for public infrastructure and playground safety
- Principles and practices of supervision and personnel management
Required Skills in:
- Organizational leadership
- Financial and budget management
- Grant writing and reporting
- Public presentations and engagement
Work Environment:
- Working in the environment of heavy machinery, equipment, hazardous materials. Works often in the public.
Salary : $109,154 - $125,528
