What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Paramedic position at Teton Valley Hospital?
The Paramedic functions as an integral part of the nursing team, and performs patient care within the paramedic scope of practice as defined by the State of Idaho. The paramedic works in the Emergency Department on scheduled shifts. This position allows for flexibility in scheduling the needs of a 24/7 facility. The paramedic prioritizes patients who present for treatment, escorts patients to the treatment area, and establishes initial vitals and medical history and records patient data as required. Performs invasive and non-invasive procedures up to Paramedic scope of practice including procurement of blood and body fluids for lab testing and all other ED duties as assigned. All employees

Paramedic Responsibilities & Duties
- Performs rapid patient assessments addressing patient care needs properly and accurately, conforming to Medical Standing Orders. Includes maintaining patients age specific competencies.
- Properly documents patient conditions and changes.
- Assists Paramedics with higher level skills, (i.e. IV setup, monitor setup, etc.).
- Maintains accurate patient and ambulance run logs, turning in forms in a timely manner.
- Maintains proficiency with appropriate EMT level equipment and supplies.
- Regularly meets monthly shift requirements.
- Assists in covering standing and special event coverage and in ensuring monthly on-call schedule coverage.
