Your Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support. Typical projects include a wide variety of municipal, commercial and Federal projects, including storm water, grading, streets, bikeways, bridges, retaining walls, parks and related ancillary facilities. The candidate may be expected to be available part-time during the school year.
- Assist in design of roadway and bridge structures
- Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses
- Assist in preparation of detailed engineering reports and supporting documents
- Assist in preparation of construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates
- Ensure stand engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
- Interface with other engineering disciplines
- Plan, coordinate and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering, or a BS in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 2 year’s experience required in transportation design projects.
- Successful completion of the FE exam or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
- Familiarity with design standards and specifications for roadway and bridge projects
