What are the responsibilities and job description for the DYE WEIGHER MIXER position at Tex Tech Industries?
Departmental housekeeping and equipment cleaning. Preparation of chemical mixes for coating operations. Maintaining continuous production of coating frames by providing chemical compounds for coating in a timely and efficient manner
Operate rubber chopper and conveyors and toluene meters
Operate 40, 100, 200 gallon Ross Mixers.
A. Load & unload according to batch cards
B. Adjust speed for disperser blade
C. Connect & operate chiller
D. Maintain log and temperature charts
Load Struthers well according to batch cards.
Operate premier mixer, air mixer, floor scales, portable scales.
Adjust and charge wells.
Monitor rubber and silicone temperatures.
Organize and keep area clean.
Identify and sample rubber for storage.
Inventory cold room.
Identify black and natural mix systems, arrested master tanks, RFL holding tanks.
Operate control system-
A. Make a black mix-Manual
B. Make a natural mix - Manual
C. Make arrested master
D. Washout mix systems
E. Washout holding tanks
F. Washout arrested master tanks
G. Washout lines to frames 1 and 3
Operate weigh scale for mix tank.Control water and steam valves for mix tank, Brookfield viscometer, Labmaster-Lighten MSV1500
Use stationary pump.
Make a mix by the batch card.
Pump water out of pit to wastewater.
Pump 25% NID to tote tank
pH Meter
Identify virgin and reclaimed toluene storage tanks
Drain water from toluene tanks.
Unloading toluene tankers:
A. Monitor tanker entering and leaving plant
B. Ground tanker with ground cable
C. Sample toluene and submit to lab
D. Connect tanker to pump and inspect line for leaks
E. Open correct valves to pump toluene to virgin tank
F. Direct toluene from tanker to reclaim tank after virgin tank full
Identify storage tanks locations:
A. 2002 latex
B. 4668B or 106 latex
Unloading latex tankers:
A. Monitor tanker entering and leaving plant
B. Sample latex and submit to lab
C. Connect tanker to storage tank and inspect line for leaks
Identify and open well valves and operate correct line for specific rubber types (neoprene, natural, nitrile)
Operate Struthers well pumps:
A. Neoprene
B. Natural
Identify storage tanks and operate controller and valves to set up reverse roll coater and valves for neoprene
Pull rubber into drum at pad
Set up pump and pre-dip for EPDM
Clean up pump and purge pre-dip at end of EPDM run
Identify area for rubber, chemicals, and tote pickup in warehouse
Operate toluene valves in pre-dip room and lines in pre-dip room
Make Nitrile pre-dip
Pump pre-dip to blue tower
"Cut in" silver tank or blue tower to frame
Operate air pumps on tote tanks
Exchange tote tanks
Prepare empty totes for shipment
Formaldehyde training
Operator hazardous waste training
Training required by other agencies- Hazardous Waste, Spill Prevention and Control; Hazardous Communication; etc.
Capable of transporting hazardous waste internally
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
