Job Summary
The Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager (HSE Manager) is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety and environmental programs. Their primary goal is to ensure compliance with both internal and external regulations minimize risk and promote a safe and healthy working environment.
- Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records of workplace incidents, inspections, and training activity.
- Collaborate with management to establish safety goals and objectives.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to address safety and environmental issues.
- Act as the contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting, permits, etc.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Direct experience in occupational safety, environmental or similar background with in-depth knowledge of all current government safety regulations (OSHA), workers’ compensation, emergency response planning and procedures, first aid, CPR, ergonomics, maintaining all safety related records, permits, the DEP, EPA, and other environmental regulatory agencies in accordance with Federal, State, Local and Company Regulations.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
- A degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
