How you’ll contribute :
Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis
Prepare and submit proposals to secure funding for research projects
Operate and manage research equipment efficiently
Train and guide students in conducting high-quality research
What you need to know
Salary : $45,000 - $47,091 "Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience"
Resume / Cover Letter : A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended
Schedule : Some weekend / evening work and travel may be required
Note : This position is full-time, temporary position; duration is for twelve (12) consecutive months
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years of legal research experience
Required Licenses and Certifications :
May vary with research area
Preferred Qualifications :
Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and / or technical equipment
Responsibilities
Research :
Designs, plans, conducts and coordinates experiments in support various research projects
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques of routine research, keeping detailed records of data
Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results
Research Publications :
Utilizes summarized results in legal, scientific and / or clientele-oriented publications
Prepares and writes proposals to funding agencies and maintains financial accounts related to research projects
Training :
Trains undergraduate and / or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research
Professional Development :
Serves on committees, work groups, and task forces as assigned
Actively engages in the activities of relevant legal professional organizations
Engages in continued legal education to improve skill set and stay abreast of industry standards in Legal Education
Ensures programs comply with federal, state, accrediting agency, and university laws, standards, policies, and procedures
