What we want
We're seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) individual to provide advanced administrative support. You will assist in the development of office procedures, provide support in planning special events and projects, and explain policies and procedures including bilingual (English and Spanish) telephone customer service for a statewide Literacy Hotline. Your organization and clerical experience enable you as the Research Coordinator to provide administrative support to specialized activities / projects with a strong focus on database management, event registration, invoicing, and customer support to the Learning Management System managed by TCALL.

What you need to know
18.00 / hour (commensurate to selected hire’s experience).

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
High school graduation or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of experience in general office or clerical work.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree
Advanced proficiency with word and spreadsheets software programs.
Fluent Spanish speaker and at least some reading, writing ability in Spanish.
More than 5 years’ experience in general office and / or clerical work.
Some supervisory experience within an office environment.
Bookkeeping, spreadsheet, and word processing experience.
A valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of word and spreadsheet software programs.
Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to take initiative and seek creative solutions.
Flexibility and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties / Tasks
General and Advanced Administrative Support - Assists in the development of office procedures, including complex or specialized functions. Assists other staff with responsibility for budget monitoring, travel planning, and expense functions, including flight itineraries, rental car reservation, and travel budget tracking. Assists in the planning of special events and coordination of logistical arrangements. Performs special analyses and project summaries. Performs advanced spreadsheet creation and adaptation, word processing, desktop publishing, presentation, and data management activities. Assists in making training documents and other items accessible. Explains, interprets, applies, and communicates policies and procedures. Monitors compliance with policies and procedures. Maintains a variety of administrative records. Verifies, processes, and reviews forms, reports, tables, and other documents. Coordinates with the maintenance of files and records.
Accessibility Liaison - Serves as first point of contact for Distance Education Professional Development Center (DEPDC) staff on sharing digital documents that need to be made accessible for the website or via other forms of digital communication. Works directly with ADA Coordinator to organize and prioritize documents for dissemination. Works directly with LMS Administrator on accessible documents and other support, as needed.
Website Liaison - Serves as first point of contact for DEPDC leadership on requesting updates to the webpage and sharing information with TCALL webmasterand perform other duties as assigned.
