What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure): Instructional Associate Professor position at Texas A&M University?
The Department of Medical Education (MDED), College of Medicine at Texas A&M University seeks to fill one (1) academic professional track (non-tenure) position for a full time, 11-month appointment with an anticipated start date in the spring of 2025. Applications will be accepted at the rank of Instructional Associate Professor, commensurate with qualifications.
The chosen candidate's primary academic responsibilities will be :
- Teach students in the curriculum primarily in pharmacology in the preclerkship curriculum and in the pharmacology graduate courses.
- Ensure that all relevant regulations and policies related to curriculum delivery in the Texas A&M University and the School of Medicine and to the mission and goals of Texas A&M University and the School of Medicine are followed
- Development and delivery of course content that is up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with pre-existing learning objectives and course offerings
- Create an environment conducive to learning that improves student outcomes.
- Collaborate with other course directors and faculty members to integrate content across different courses and / or conduct educational activities within a simulated clinical environment.
- Contribute to Medical Student Grand Rounds as one of the faculty mentors.
- Meet the needs of preclerkship and course co-leadership roles.
- Participate in curricular committees as appropriate and as an interviewer with the COM Admissions Committee.
