Based in downtown Fort Worth, the Institute for Healthcare Access seeks a Health Policy Research Assistant to contribute to the Institute’s grant-funded project-based work. The Research Assistant will report to the Institute Executive Director and work on academic legal research and grant-funded projects. This role involves performing skilled administrative and managerial support in research, as well as planning and directing certain phases of grant-funded research projects.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience in creation and management of project plans and processes
- Experience with report and/or manuscript-writing
- Experience with grant writing
- Experience in data collection, program evaluation, assessment and research, and/or educational research
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Exceptional ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Research: Assists in researching, developing, and disseminating legal and public policy analyses to inform and shape federal and state policy. Applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed record of data. Evaluates and summarizes research results.
- Research Publications: Assists with reports, invoices, and cataloging academic legal research and grant-funded projects. Assists with maintenance of financial accounts related to academic legal research and grant-funded projects. Assists in preparing and writing proposals to funding agencies.
- Mentorship: Assists law and/or graduate students and other field staff involved in research.
- Grant Project Support & Collaboration: Tracks project progress and ensures compliance with grant requirements. Assists legal and other technical staff involved in research. Works collaboratively with project teams, faculty, and external partners as needed.
