Bookkeeper

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role requires proficiency in double entry bookkeeping and experience with financial software, particularly QuickBooks. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organization through diligent record-keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using double entry bookkeeping methods.
• Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounts.
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and tracking payments.
• Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary financial data and reports.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Utilize financial software to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Support corporate accounting functions as needed, including technical accounting tasks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Experience

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in public or corporate accounting settings.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger reconciliation practices and budgeting processes.
• Proficiency in using financial software, with a strong preference for QuickBooks experience.
• Familiarity with technical accounting principles is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve financial goals.

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
