KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in advanced level IT support such as hardware/software, operating systems, and applications.
- Experience writing, trouble shooting, and resolving issues with program code.
- Experience in application development or system and application design.
- Customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING...
- Develop and implement highly complex information technology projects with stakeholder engagement, scope, timeline, budget and deliverables to support division air permitting business and technical processes and information management systems.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of procedural and support documentation used to generate the development and execution for APD information systems and validates workflows on proposed changes to procedures.
- Lead and train staff in the use of division and related agency information systems. Communicate the applicability of federal and state requirements and procedures related to division and agency processes and programs to internal and external customers as applicable.
- Serve as back-up to systems support staff related to check-out and maintenance of agency/division assets, division computer deployments and procurement and inventory of hardware and software. Provide technical assistance to division Purchaser when reviewing software purchases for the division.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Five years of full-time experience in systems administration, business process analysis and modeling, application development or system and application design.
OR
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or a related field plus two years of the required experience.
OR
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or a related field plus three years of the required experience.
OR
- Completion of 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or related field plus four years of the required experience.
Career Ladder Progression
Two years of full-time TCEQ experience as a Systems Analyst III.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Systems Analyst IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Systems Analyst IV series.
