Responsibilities
Membership Growth & Engagement
- Develop and execute strategies for member recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention.
- Lead data-driven initiatives to improve the member experience and enhance member value.
- Coordinate membership acquisition and win-back campaigns.
- Serve as the liaison in partnership with the Leadership Resources Manager to chapter and division volunteer leaders to foster growth and engagement.
- Manage and analyze membership data to identify trends and improve outreach efforts.
- Primary staff liaison to the Membership Committee.
Marketing & Communications
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy, ensuring clear, consistent messaging across all channels for TCA and its Chapters and Divisions.Oversee the organization’s website, social media, digital platforms, calendars, and branding efforts.Manage and produce TCA’s monthly e-update, calls to action, advocacy newsletter (during legislative years), and other communications.Promote events, programs, and services to members and non-members.Create and execute marketing campaigns for conferences and key organizational initiatives.Develop and manage a detailed communications calendar, in partnership with the team, ensuring alignment across all initiatives.Primary staff liaison to the Communications Committee.Event & Program Support
Support the Administrative Coordinator with conference invoicing and payment processing.Ensure alignment between membership goals and event strategies.Oversee marketing efforts to maximize event attendance and engagement.Administrative & Financial Management
Generate reports on membership, marketing efforts, and key performance indicators for leadership and the Board of Directors.Ensure accurate database management and effective use of association management software (AMS).Partner with Accounting and VP of Operations on month-end, quarterly, and yearly close.Partner with VP of Operations and CEO to build the annual departmental budget.Departmental Management
Direct supervisor to the Administrative Coordinator.Establish performance metrics, develop standard operating procedures, and oversee workflow efficiency.Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment, promoting professional development for direct report.Ensure cross-departmental collaboration to align membership, marketing, and communications efforts with organizational goals.Maintain a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high-quality member service.Other activities as needed and defined by the Vice President of OperationsQualifications & Skills
Working Conditions and Environment / Physical Demands :
Ability to engage in frequent public contact. Professional attire may be required for most public-facing work. This is an in-person role, with the ability to work in or from a remote location or from a home-based office as needed. Must possess the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of high-pressure situations, such as : responding to urgent legislative issues, handling difficult internal and external interactions, and effectively working long and, at times, odd hours which could exceed 40 hours or include weekends as necessary. This position will require availability for some evenings and weekend meetings and occasional travel to conferences and other client events. Willingness and availability for calls, meetings, and some project deadlines outside of normal business hours, when needed, due to the volunteer schedules.

Required :
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).7-10 years of experience in membership, marketing, communications, or development.5 years of leadership / supervisory experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.Experience managing digital marketing, branding, and social media strategies.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AMS (such as Rhythm) and CRM tools is required.Analytical mindset with the ability to track performance and improve engagement strategies.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.Preferred :
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, HigherLogic (or other experience with marketing software), and web design / HTML.Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and financial management tools.Interest in mental health, wellness, and the counseling profession.Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.About Texas Counseling Association The Texas Counseling Association (TCA) is a small, non-profit association located in downtown Austin that represents Licensed Professional Counselors, Certified School Counselors, and other behavioral health professionals working in an array of settings across Texas.
